by AdminAugust 9th, 2023
The state of Connecticut has been experiencing an epidemic of pedestrian related fatalities over the past two years and many municipalities, including New Haven are working on finding ways to fix the infrastructure of their cities and towns to address these issues. After a second pedestrian related fatality in Fairfield recently, the city is joining the list of communities to shine a spotlight on infrastructure needs that can address these challenges. When a New Haven pedestrian accident occurs and someone is killed it can send shock waves throughout the city and alarm bells will ring for those that write the laws in the Elm City. Long before the recent uptick in pedestrian fatalities, Connecticut instituted a “Complete Streets” law that required cities and towns to take pedestrian safety and the safety of those riding public transportation into account when developing new streets and intersections. Even with the 2009 law enacted, Read the full article…

Old Lyme Bicycle Accident Shines Light On Safety For Aging Cyclists
by AdminJuly 31st, 2023
The old adage that something is “just like riding a bike,” which indicates that once you know how to ride a bike you never have to learn again has been proven time and time again. That doesn’t mean, however, that once you know how to ride a bike you don’t need some simple safety reminders as you ride in your older age. Finally, A Wrong-Way Driver Success Story In Connecticut
by AdminJuly 28th, 2023

While there have been many measures which have been proposed and passed in the state to start to work on the problem of wrong-way drivers, this was a case where concerned citizens made all the difference. State troopers were alerted to the driver by multiple 911 calls which triggered the state police to go out and find the vehicle Read the full article…
