Now the new Tesla Model S has received the second-highest rating from the Euro NCAP giving the company the two highest rated vehicles for safety on the market today.  According to the Euro NCAP ratings the Tesla Model S had the following scores on some of the most important safety tests that are conducted on vehicles;

1.) Overall safety rating of 94%

2.) The vehicle achieved the maximum score on the side-impact crash rating

3.) The Model S received a 3.9 score out of a possible 4 on the rear-impact crash rating

While overall the Tesla Model S was considered to be the second safest vehicle on the market there were a couple of areas for improvement for the vehicle, according to the rating system.  The vehicle performed “low” on how well it protected the driver’s torso in a crash.  It also received a score of only adequate in it’s ability to protect the passenger’s legs and torso.

It can be challenging to decipher all of the important safety data that comes out of these tests, but when you compare these vehicles to others it becomes clear, quickly, that a Tesla Model S and Tesla Model Y remain the two safest vehicles on the road today.  While no safety test can guarantee that when you get into a New Haven auto accident you are going to be free from injury or even something more serious, it can give you peace of mind to know that these vehicles have been rigorously tested and have returned positive safety results.
