What The U.S. Centers For Disease Control Recommends To Avoid A New Haven Auto Accident

Over the last two years many Americans were introduced to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as the organization was at the forefront of the country’s pandemic response.  What many Americans may not know is that the CDC actually offers information on a whole host of topics that affect daily life.  One of those topics is safety and there are some safety recommendations that the CDC has made that will help protect city residents from getting into a New Haven auto accident.

Before getting into the recommendations the CDC reports that nearly 32,000 people are killed each year in auto accidents and a staggering 2 million people are injured in accidents that involve motor vehicles.  These numbers are significant and too high.  Some of the reported factors that are responsible for the high rate of injury and death behind the wheel include excessive speed and alcohol use while or before driving.

The CDC has made the following recommendations for reducing the number of injuries and deaths that occur in the United States from auto accidents;

1.) Use a seatbelt.  While seatbelt use in the United States is very high, reportedly 90% or higher in 2020, all drivers and passengers will go a long way to protecting themselves with the use of a seatbelt in every seat during every trip.

2.) Under no circumstance should you ever drive while under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs.

3.) Obey speed limits.

4.) Skip the distractions.  Distracted driving is a real problem and with more and more distractions like infotainment and cellphones being introduced to the driving experience it will continue to be a problem.  The safest way to use your cellphone or any other distraction in the car is to NOT use these distractions.

There are a variety of resources in the U.S. and globally of organizations that are making similar recommendations to the CDC and if they are following the above safety recommendations there is a good chance that there will be a reduction in New Haven auto accidents over time.  If, however, these recommendations are not followed, there could be an increase.
