Why You Should Not Ignore A New Haven Slip and Fall Injury

Let’s say you’re walking through the grocery store and suddenly hit a wet spot on the floor and are upended and land on your back.  It hurts like crazy, but you decide that you can just “walk it off” and then you move on.  It might not feel like much more then a little pain at the time, but it could easily turn into a nagging injury that will last for years to come.

When you are involved in a New Haven slip and fall accident you need to make sure you take it seriously.  Accidents that involve back injury or any other type of continuous pain that could linger need to be addressed at the moment of impact.  If they are not, they will linger.  If you are injured from a fall you should absolutely take it seriously and document the fall accordingly.

Accidents like a fall can in fact be mild pain and then go away, but they can also last a long time.  If you do not document the incident you will not be able to hold the negligent party accountable in the long run.  Your best bet is to take photos and be seen by a medical professional at the time it happens.  Yes, it may be nothing, but if it is something then you have the appropriate documentation to get it taken care of.

When taking photos of the fall, make sure to take photos of the entire area.  You will want photos of the cause of the fall, the setting in which you fell, and any other pieces of information that may be relevant to how/why you fell in the first place.  It will not take you long to document the fall and if you do decide to action due to a lingering injury you will be able to remember what happened and most importantly share what happened so it is not “your word against theirs.”
