New Haven Auto Accidents Are More Likely With ADHD Drivers

New Haven auto accidents are more likely for teens with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, according to a recent study. In fact, they are 36% more likely than their peers. Previous studies have included a smaller sample size that relied on teen and parent reporting, but this study utilized electronic medical records between 2004 and 2014 of 18,500 teens with 2,500 of them having ADHD. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) defines the condition with difficulty concentrating, controlling impulsive behaviors, and being overly active. It cannot be cured but symptoms can be managed. This study also found that those with ADHD are less likely to get their driver’s license at a younger age and get it as they progress into adulthood.
