There is a recall that has been issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Chrysler for nearly 63,000 Jeep Wranglers from 2021-2023.  The vehicles have an issue with the hybrid electric engine that has been known to shutdown while the vehicle is being operated which can lead to a serious situation which could initiate a New Haven auto accident.

If you drive a Jeep Wrangler from between 2021-2023 you should contact the dealer to get this issue resolved so you are not put in a position where your car loses communication with it’s engine while you’re driving.  This could have serious consequences.

Whether you drive a Jeep or not, there are often many recalls on vehicles by the NHTSA and you can check whether there is a recall on your vehicle or not by going here.

It is critically important that you stay on top of any recalls that are associated with your vehicle because they often have safety implications and if not addressed can cause a situation where you are more likely to get into an accident in your vehicle.  Generally speaking repairs that are covered under a mandated recall should be done at no charge to you by the vehicles dealer.  However, before you have a repair done, make sure to confirm this with the dealership so you are not caught off guard if there is any charge for fixing the issue.

The steps you should take if you discover that there is a recall on your vehicle include the following;

1.) Contact your dealer and find out how the company is handling the recall.  If they are scheduling you for the repair right away, make your appointment and get it taken care of.

2.) Take the time to understand what the repair is and whether there will be any cost associated with it.

3.) Conduct any follow-up maintenance that may be required once the repair has been completed.

Repairs from a recall can seem like a hassle, but they will also save you from getting into a New Haven auto accident.  It’s important to get the repairs done in a timely manner.  If you wait you may find yourself in an accident and end up with an injury and even more headaches to deal with.
